To Shop, or Not to Shop? That is the Question

The John B. Create-A-Mall Co. would like to build an industrial park/shopping mall at the location indicated in the picture below. Our class has been selected as a citizen's advisory group (CAG) to assist the county planning commission as they consider this site.

Part 1

The first task given to CAG is to develop a list of factors, concerns, issues, etc. that should be considered when making decisions regarding the use of this land. Because your county is large, you will share this information with the other members of the group using the CAG Discussion Board thread. Each person is required to submit at least 5 items to consider.

Part 2

Individually compile a master list of the factors, concerns, issues, etc. from all members of the group. From your perspective, select the top 10 items and rank them in order from highest to lowest priority. Post them to the CAG Discussion Board thread and provide a short (10- to 15- lines) description of the reasoning or the procedure that you used to select your 10 items.

Part 3

Review the list of top ten items and their written description posted by your fellow classmates. Pick three fellow classmate postings and add a thread comparing and contrasting their ideas with yours. What are the similarities? What are the differences? Conclude your thread by commenting on what you have taken away from this activity.
