Earth Science Week
October 11-17, 2009, has been proclaimed Earth Science Week. Earth Science Week is an annual event, sponsored by the American Geological Institute and its member societies. It highlights the vital role that the earth and natural sciences play in the lives of citizens, communities, and the environment of all living resources.
The science of state geological surveys and the U.S. Geological Survey benefits lives across the country in countless ways. Earth Science Week provides a great opportunity to explore the Earth Science expertise and resources available from the Nebraska Geological Survey, School of Natural Resources at University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), the Department of Geosciences at (UNL) the Department of Geography and Geosciences at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and both the national and Nebraska U.S.G.S. offices.
